ASATRON

A couple of weeks ago I received lyrics from Mr. Michael Lyzenga in West Virginia. He asked if I would like to create a slow blues to his words. Of course I said yes and today I sent the song to him for feedback and here’s what he said:

I don’t know what to say! Good God Almighty… you rock’d it! Perfect!I love the crowd noise… the piano intro… wow! The drums are great! Your vocal is soooo sultry in places and then you got nasty in others. Damn! It’s exactly as I imagined you singing the lyrics. The ‘plug in my guitar’ static is awesome! Your lead break is smokin’! What can I say but… thank you so much! I will upload to my Soundclick… you can upload to Fandalism or anywhere else you want to.

What else could I do but release the song.

Playing my blues

I never thought I’d play Bostons Foreplay Longrun… But that’s just what I did yesterday with No Jive. Not easy and a lot of work but I think we will make it. We also work on songs from Yes, Bonamassa, Deep Purple and other awesome artists. Lokalbefolkningen work with recordings … It’s going to be very interesting. Asatron is still playing the blues…

Another year has passed.

2014 was a good year I think.

It was a warm winter without snow. I hate snow so I was happy with that.

My daughter finished her education and started her own business. I was chosen to be lead teacher and later also received the title Expert Educator by Microsoft. I went to London with my daughters and bought a new car and a seven stringed guitar. I also gave my living room a total makeover and went to two funerals.

As Asatron I released ten songs and I continued to play with No Jive and Lokalbefolkningen. In the autumn the female group from the eighties had a reunion and started rehearsals and played live again. Krakel Zpektakel’s back!

I’m still single and perfectly happy with that.

I never make promises for the new year but I wish 2015 will be a great year for all of you.

About names…

Why Asatron?

Asatron is the  religion  the Vikings practiced in Scandinavia 1,000 years ago. It includes many fantastic stories about gods, giants, wizards and many magical beings. Asatron describes the world as a giant tree where the different worlds were placed. Around the world there was the beast Midgard Serpent. I’m very fascinated of these stories.

My name, Åsa, is a female name of Nordic origin. It means “queen of goddesses” and corresponds to the runic name Asa.

Asatron begins with my name and the rest “tron” means two things in swedish, to believe or a throne.

I associate those words with believing in Asa or a throne for Asa, the queen of goddesses…

Bu the final decision to use the name Asatron was the way we swedes can say it in a funny way… pretend to be an angry dog and bark it…

In my song Themes of Asatron I tried to describe some of the stories I like so much. The weavers is also about these stories.

Recording an old song. Played it with the band Amnesia a long time ago. Amnesia was the band I played with after splitting the female group Krakel Zpektakel. We recorded the song in a studio but as everything else from this time, it’s only saved on tape.. So, now I record it again and trying to remember…
Krakel Zpektakel has rise from the dead and will preform soon at a secret place…
No Jive’s working on new material and Lokalbefolkningen is preparing for next gig..
