Look what I found

I told you about the crazy street music festival, didn’t I….

Every Wednesday in July The small village Orsa turns to a big party for musicians. I’ve been there three times now and I love to play with people I never met before in the streets, restaurants, beer tents and later at night at the hotel stage. I found this video on youtube and think it shows very well how fun it is. And, yes you can see me and my cousin if you look carefully. It’s strange… Orsa is 370 km away from where I live and has 7000 citizens, but every time I go there I meet someone I know. The people who live there are incredible friendly and crazy, and there are so many awesome musicians. See for yourself 🙂

Mike Lyzenga

born in Chicago, Illinois
lives in Milton, West Virginia USA
Musician since 1966 (guitar, bass, mandolin, harmonica, dobro)
love the blues mainly but also rock, country, folk… and now Asatron!
He records in his home studio using a BOSS BR1600 digital machine.
He has been recording with Blues Crossing in West Virginia since 2004.

A good day

Today my music
was played in three podcasts!

At this same day my likes on facebook reached 100.

Not so special you might think but I’ll remind you that I
know absolutely nothing about marketing and never spent any money on it.

To me it’s a good day and I will thank all of you who
support my music!

It means a lot to me!

It’s actually a bit unreal that the music I record in my
little studio in my bedroom, gets played from New York, Florida, UK, Texas,
Japan etc…

When I started to publish my music I couldn’t dream about this!

I will continue to give my music away for free because I’m
not in this for the money, it’s the passion of creating that’s thrilling me.

Live!

Live

On friday I’ll play with the coverband at my favourite place “Grisslinge bar och Bistro“. Friday night live!
No Jive is better than ever and we have some new songs on the list.
I like “Cold day in hell” best. That song really “takes the best of me”…
We have some new equipment and the sound is much better now.
The whole band’s looking forward to this night. We’re hot!
We will give the audience everything we’ve got!
And… something’s happened to my amp…
I’ve fount the perfect guitar sound and I love it!
Warm distortion with a little crisp on the top.
Exactly as I want it.
I searched for the perfect sound for many years and I’ve never been so close before.
This maybe seems a bit crazy, but I discovered it when I turned the speaker upside down….

You invited the angels

I made this song a couple of years ago.

I was deeply in love with a man and tried to tell him how important he was to me…

I sent him the song and after that I couldn’t listen to it without crying.

So, I hid the song in my computer and never listened to it again.

Until a few days ago.

Since I recorded that song I’ve became a much stronger woman.

So much pain I have faced since then…

What doesn’t kill makes you stronger, they say…

So I decided to make a new version of the song.

I opened up the dusty project and guess what happened….

In the second refrain I started to cry….

Anyway, I made it. A new recording of one of my favorite songs.

This one means a lot to me.

I hope you can hear it. I hope it touches you too.

My soul is in this song.

A drink….

I finally did it!

I bought a trip to Paris…

Just me and my lovely daughters.

We’ve talked about it for a long time and now it’s real…

My latest song “I will survive” is meeting the world…

Westfield indie alliance show, Michael Angels cosmic grab bag, and Dalecast have played it already.

I’m woking hard with my students. I’ve got so may ideas how to use digital techniques in the education…

My house has got a new terrace and I will build the stairs this weekend. Close to the finish now…

working on new songs with the coverband… some Pinkfloyd and Chaka Kahn…

I spilled superglue on my guitar the other day while fixing the tone controll…

Polished it up with shoe shine….

Recorded some new ideas for a new song… Next one will be a slow heavy thing I think…

Have to call my hair stylist…. Havn’t seen her in years… Need a hairmakeover…

and I have to pick up the windscreen wiper I ordered two moths ago….

This weekend I think I will allow myself a drink….
